Every herd has one. The mule who hears the gate latch before anyone reaches for it, who has already filed away the new noise in the barn aisle and formed an opinion about it. The Listeners honors two of them: Sandy, the first Listener, paired with Jung, the second. Two sets of ears, two quiet minds, missing nothing.
