Meet the Aficionado

Patricia (Trish) Mayer is a self-taught artist working primarily in colored-pencil, motivated by revealing the unique personality and emotion of each equine. Through her art, she hopes to encourage others to view animals as individuals.

She began drawing as a child and was encouraged by her mother who also had a talent for drawing. While living in the Netherlands, she was exposed to the many great works of art at the museums throughout Europe.

Today, Patricia is inspired by her two miniature horses and two miniature mules. She is an avid equine enthusiast and retired horse trainer living on a farm in rural Virginia.
